CAREER PLANNING PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
A student’s career will likely define their financial destiny and overall life satisfaction. Yet, too many students do not devote the time needed to evaluate their career goals before making a significant financial and time commitment to the endeavor.
For high school students (age 15+) who want to learn more about themselves and their best-fit career options, “Focusing Your Future Career Planning Program” goes beyond career interests. The program helps students examine “how ready am I to successfully transition to college or an advanced training program?”.
The “Focusing Your Future Career Planning Program” consists of three phases with eight assignments. The program is led by an MCPT Career Counselor who follows a career planning process that will help each student:
-
Discover Your Unique Traits
Use formal assessment tools to discover how their interests, skills, values, and personality define their unique traitsolore magna
-
Explore Your "Best Fit" Career Options
Use their unique traits to explore and match to "best fit" career options and opportunities
-
Decide on Your "Best Fit" Career & College Program
Select and participate in elective courses, internships, job shadowing, etc., to further explore and validate their career choice and position them to make the right decisions regarding a course of study and college (or advanced training opportunity) selection. The student's career vision provides the rationale and approach, giving the student and parents the confidence to make the best college or advanced training decisions.

The process continues with in-school validation activities and a final “presentation” by the student to their cohort, Counselor, etc. to demonstrate their confidence and “proof” that they are making the best career decision for themselves and establishing a foundation for selecting a matching college or advanced training opportunity.
My College Planning Team offers the program either through individual one-on-one coaching, or via small groups (6-8 per cohort) that meet online for eight weekly sessions.
The cost for the individual one-on-one program is $595. To schedule a free 30-minute consultation and learn more about the program, please visit the appointment scheduler page.
The cost for the group program is $395 and includes the price of the online assessment tools, all group sessions, research tools, and email support.
